Happy Euro-ego Day!

10 October 2011

Today we celebrate the birthday of a guy who ‘discovered’ a land that already had civilizations. Not only that, but he wasn’t the first one to ‘discover’ it, but I guess it’s all about marketing, isn’t it (Sorry Steve RIP!). Just another aspect of what I call euro-centric thought and history. I guess the appropriate way to celebrate it is a day off. Here’s to you <fill-in-country>, we aren’t working today. Call it a strike…that’s more European. I think I’ll go back to bed.
